Not sure if this is the correct forum to use - please bear with me if not.

Had to restart my Mac after a software update and when I’ve tried to rejoin the site I am not receiving the confirmation email that contains the code to complete the log in process.

Havetried on several occasions ,checked Spam folder, etc.but no sign of the mails. First time I’ve encountered this issue so am not sure how to go about fixing it. Still logged in ok from my iPad but I prefer using desktop as the screen is bigger. Anyone else had/having this issue ? Any suggestions on how to fix?
Thanks in advance

Phil

No idea why you would re-register / create a new account just because you want to login on a mac. just use the same login name and password your using on the ipad, i will delete the duplicate account for you.

Sorry, wasnt clear enough. I was trying to login using same cred3ntials - wasn’t trying to setup ne2account (idonttnik so, anyway - these new anti-c drugs are adding my brain a bit...)

Just tried again and I get to the 2 step verification page asking for the confirmation code but haven’t received the email with the code. For info, I always get asked for a confirmation code whenever I’ve logged out of the site and want to log in again but this is the first time the email with the cod3 has failed to appear.

Nothing in Spam. Have cleared browser cache and tried again to login - get the page asking for the confirmation code but still no email. Have checked my profile and email address is correct so now flummoxed.

I'm permanently logged in! Saves me problems (I being a tech dunce!). Mind you, I haven't tried logging on from my laptop!

Never had issues before when logging in. Must remember to not log out on my iPad or I’m bu**ered!

Just tried logging in from my phone - same issue. No confirmation email received. Definitely need to stay logged in on my iPad!!

Ah ha, found my backup codes for the 2 step verification process and have now successfully logged in on my Mac. Weird that the verification mails have stopped coming but now I have a process to login when my 30 days are up so that’s ok for the moment.

Hm just a thought are you logging in via Google/Facebook or so other such way or are you going direct from your Webb Browser to ‘gscalecentral.net’ ? I have been using my Webb Browser always and never have any issues like you describe though I have had similar issues to you when trying to access YouTube that is now in some irritating way tied in with Google.

In case you didn't know, Youtube is owned by Google.

Jon. I always login via browser (don’t have a FB account) and have had the issue both with Safari on the Mac and Chrome on my Android phone.

Oh so that is very weird, I use my Mac, iPad and very rarely phone via browser with none if your issues.

I have read this with interest, normally login via Firefox on my PC, but also via Firefox on my iPhone and iPad, and have never had any of the issues mentioned, just logs straight in!

I think Phil is using two-stage authentication, rather than 'just' username and password.. :wondering::nerd:

Two Stage authentication which is otherwise known as Dual Factor Authentication is where you try to login with your credentials and then the site sends you a code that needs to be entered as well. This code can normally be sent to you using an email or via SMS, some systems allow you to use a code generator application that runs on your phone (such as Microsoft Authenticator, Authy and similar). If you dont enter the correct code in you do not login.

I am not familiar how this forum is using DFA as I have not enabled it on my account. You can enable it by going to your Password and Security settings.
