Cafe Rene

Gizzy

A gentleman, a scholar, and a railway modeller....
Country flag
I acquired a Café Rene from a local Garden Centre recently for my railway.

As a big fan of 'Allo 'Allo, I would like to have a few characters from the show for the outside tables.

So does anyone know if I can purchase G scale, ahem, saucy waitresses such as Yvette and Maria please....

Preiser have a waitress in their range, but she is not particularly saucy.

There is another lesser known German firm whose name I forget (I think Grootspoer stock them) which produces saucy figures.

God Moaning, Monsieur Gizzee.....

You mean something like this?

I was going to take the second pic from a slightly lower angle, then I remembered that this IS a family forum......

She's a 90mm-ish figure from the old Phoenix/Mascot Models range, which we've discussed several times before on here.... I was lucky enough to pick her up (oo-er...) ready-painted from evilBay a few years back, so sadly I can't take any credit for the lovely paintjob.....

Vot about ze flying helmet and ze wet celery.....?

Aaah! Ze knobs! Ze knobs are flasheeeng!

By this point, many non-UK-based members of this forum must be thinking "what the **** are they on about??" Mind you, that's probably a normal state on here.....
I imagine it probably made it to Oz and NZ, but did it ever get shown in the US?

Meanwhile, back on the topic, Prehm do some kitchen and waiting staff, but again nothing "saucy".

Jon.

Edit: Dave got his stick of celery in while I was typing.....

Which Garden Centre Gizzy? I think I may need one.

This one? 8 inches high - about right. Not a bad price either.

Quite small then..

You could secrete it in a little tank to get it home!

As for "Stop it! This is getting very silly!"

I think that is Monty Python??

Oo-er Missus?

That's exactly what we are looking for!

Where did you get her

Correct, Phil - Graham Chapman in Army Staff Officer's uniform, popping up at the end of a number of totally unrelated sketchs that they couldn't think of good endings for.... ;)

She's an old Phoenix figure, long out of production over here though I believe there is a firm in either Italy or Spain who is still casting them, you'd need to do some google-fu.... they do turn up on eBay occasionally.

Ohhhh yes.... Tim Richards did some very, very naughty figures back in the '80s and '90s, the "tamer" ones (very softcore T&A, like the waitress figure) were for the Phoenix Follies (sometimes "Phollies") range but the really XXX rated stuff was for a company that was variously called Mascot Miniatures and/or Starlight Miniatures. The ownership of the sculpts/moulds these days seems to be in question, there is at least one European firm that claims to "own" them and is still casting them in metal, but from my brief google-fu there is also at least one firm (French?) that is re-casting them in resin.... like a number of such out-of-production lines and "recasts", it is very unlikely that the original sculptor and/or owners have ever approved such recasts, but it is a very grey area.....
As I believe I've mentioned before, Tim did some sculpting for me back in the '90s, but much smaller figures - around 25-30mm tall as opposed to the much bigger stuff he is better known for. His work has always been exquisite, and he has a superb flair for sculpting "the female form"! I've been out of touch with him for many years, sadly, and I think he's given up figure sculpting to concentrate on his 2D art - last time I googled him, it brought up several lovely pastel drawings for sale of very attractive ladies in various degrees of undress.

You know I was certain I had seen some alo alo figures:-

allo also miniature figures

Looks like these were home made but I still have this niggly feeling that one of the artisan 16mom lot have done some.
