Forgive me for being a little pedantic but, doesn't a surcharge mean an increase in price?
yes but wasn't it like £30 before and now £15 thus still a surcharge over MDF but much less than before?

Hi,Forgive me for being a little pedantic but, doesn't a surcharge mean an increase in price?
and plywood makes senseHi,
Technically no. At present, we have a extra charge per kit for Plywood aka a existing surcharge. This varies between £20 and £30 per kit. The change means that across the whole range this is now only £15 therefore a price drop. I hope that makes sense.

Sadly Plywood costs between 25% and 100% more depending on the project than MDF to use and importantly depending on what material thicknesses we use. It also has a higher machine time to produce. Therefore, it sadly has to cost more. Although the circumstances and the way the business is run have changed recently (can't say more than that), we still have to charge more. As we get into the swing of things and the way we operate is streamlined further, the surcharge might be able to do dropped even further.and plywood makes sense![]()
We've known about the HGLW one for a while since we announced ours back in January. Its not a issue as both products have their own unique selling points so I can see a place on the market for both!Ashover coaches seem to be like London buses - you wait ages and a couple come along together
Houston Gate have just announced one as well![]()
Oh bloggerLink to Blog does not work?
Hi,Wow, the detailing and finish on those burgundy FR coaches is amazing! Not too sure about the dodgy looking MDF building models in the background of the photo though....![]()
Seriously though, I do like the look of the two new locos, though I don't do British outline myself.... I don't suppose there might be any chance of a Faur L45H kit for us Euro G fans, is there? It's a shape that seems like it would lend itself very nicely to this sort of construction method, the only available large-scale model at the moment being the Blauturm kit at the thick end of seven hundred quid.
Jon.
Hi,
I can certainly look into it. We’re doing a custom designed bogie for the 91 which can be modified to fit anything else. So it’s doable. I’ll have to have a look for drawings and go from there.
Jon
The L45H is also known as the Lxd2, as far as I'm aware they are basically the same loco.
