Bowaters Models

I have a freelance 45mm dismal, which I am about to start..

Idea is to put battery RC in it.. If Fr Fred has a spare round-tuit he could let me have, then it will get done sooner!:nod:

Comes with an assembled 3D printed motor-block, pair of metal chopper couplings, and bag of very nicely laser cut parts..

Instructions are on the website. - Not sure if this is so you get the most up to date, or because I got my kit quite early?
Hi Phil,

All our instructions go online the day we release the kit. We don't release the kit until instructions are both available and online. It also means if we need to push out a instructions update, it's a simple file update to get the latest version. Plus it saves a lot of printer usage!

Anybody, more knowledgeable than I, know where I can get 'simulated seagull cr*p on the roof' decals?

I would have thought a blob of neat white acrylic, with a touch of grey, green, and yellow.. Swirl with the end of a cocktail stick.. - Do not use stick for picking teeth! :shake:

Seems to me that anybody modelling the WHR, Tal-y-Llyn, Vale of Rheidol or Ffestiniog would leap at the opportunity to apply a few well-spaced examples of this stuff - commonly-seen 'decor' on any train that runs near or by the coastline. IMO, a lost chance for a maker of 3D decals, like Archer Products, to cash in here.

If anyone can Stan Cedarleaf can. Google Seagull crap pictures and select the image that best suits the effect you want. I cannot believe I actually just did that. Max

P.S. You'd probably need an Alps printer or similar :)

Just store your stock in the garden shed for a while. Insects leave tiny white specs of crap that looks very like scaled down seagull droppings. If you look VERY closely you can see what I mean on the roof of the coach in this pic. How did we get onto this topic again?

On a more serious note I see that as a perfect case for some "dry brushing techique" though as railwayman says the spider poop (I believe it to be the long legged variety being the guilty party, though I have never cought them in the act) would work out quite well for scale with perhaps a few dabs of dry white being pulled from the origin place and a spot or two of other colours. Max Pic is the best to use to get the effects correct.

Love the Pullman, pity they are not my thing. Have you thought about some German Metre Gauge Stock as kits? There are a few Wagons that have not been produced (by Continental G Manufactureres) at a sensible price and your techniques would appear to be just right for them.

There's also a big Fn3 hole this side of the pond - although part of the problem may well be that it's only a small hole :D:D:D
