Hi All, my first post. I agree wholly with the above post. Even with short LGB cars we were having an issue...after watching the cars slowly, I identified the problem bit of track. Most of the curve is slightly superelevated by dint of the floating track and its response to our summer heat, and just the changing nature of ballast (in our case: crushed gravel). I simple put a bit of gravel under the outer rail on about a 6 inch section.
Regarding scale lengths...we are mostly interested in smaller European wagons and flatbed based cars. However, my son has a few longer cars with bogies (these did not navigate the curve, but do now after the repairs). They aren’t quite full scale length...perhaps 40 feet when scaled up. They look great. He is now after a small bullnose like an F3.
I do think longer cars look a bit off, especially the coaches (as pictured later in the thread). That said, to each his own and be merry!
