Very interesting. I used to go to school on that line and could just about recognise the run through High Wycombe as far as Princes Risborough, before they cut away to a shot of the coffee cups.
Also loved the white coated driver, but was surprised that there was only one man on the footplate. In the early 1960s I might still have expected a "second man".
Were they fast?? What's the distance by rail to Birmingham - about 100-120 miles? Done in 1hr 55mins so an average of 60-ish and add a bit for the Leamington stop and signals check. Not bad for the date, I guess.
