Hi chaps, since the sad demise of Top Slots and so many other traders over the last few years, where would folks now suggest as the best/cheapest UK source for Piko track (G of course!)...?

There is always Gaugemaster of course, and I notice that ECR do have some on their eBay store, but has anyone got another favourite source or stockist with decent prices?

Jon.

Is this a general enquiry Jon or are you after something specific? If the latter I might be able to assist.

I believe GRS stock Piko.

I have found R3 curves difficult to find second hand Jon, but I have some spare quarter curves if you need any....

Could give these a look at, good selection.

Thanks Mike - at this point it's more a case of some generalised "armchair planning" for stuff that MIGHT happen in the future.... but I may drop you a message about some specifics in due course!

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions so far, too...

Jon.
:)

Do not be put off by second hand tarnished track, can always be got into good running order. Even points where the rail linkage has gone west by replacing with black wire soldered in place, or Massoth Clamps can be cut in half with wire to create a non soldered option. Much much cheeper than new stuff.

I have no problems with second-hand track, JonD - I have a lot of it! My enquiry was just in case I need some particular bits for future projects... ;)

Jon.

I have ordered from rainbow railways successfully.

Thanks John - not a supplier I was previously aware of - but do they stock Piko G? I couldin't see anything listed on their site, maybe my Google-Fu is just weak today...? ;)

May also be worth a try with Tony Green Lincoln, he does do second hand track but not shown in his webb site.

It's a big lumbering site, but I found that if you type in the code for a particular bit of track in the site search e.g. G-WRR5 for a right hand R5 switch, then one pops up at a very reasonable sixty seven quid. I haven't found cheaper. Note though you'll have to wait a week or three for it to get to you.

P&S Hobbies in Scarborough, do appear to have various points.

Paul and Sue's website I find can be a bit of a fiddle to get around, (just my opinion) but I tend to look to see what they have got then phone direct.
