Thanks for your kind comments. I like the loco and my sense of its potential has not diminished since it was brought to our attention on this forum.
I intend to make it more into a model (as I have previously mentioned) and it may be source of revitalising my aged Porter (pictured below) if the the vertical motor would fit in.
In further response to Vic's posting, I dug out the Porter and opened it up underneath. It has a different arrangement for the motor (horizontal) and the frame bears many resemblences to the new loco but it is obvious that the moulds have been substantially reworked for the Lil Loco.
However, the wheelbase and cylinder measurements are the same, so a scrap Porter could donate its piston rods etc. I will endeavour to make my own piston rods and slides for the loco.
I also did a size comparison to the old Porter. The new Lil Loco is wider and taller (cabwise).
