Automation Using Rocrail

This short video clip shows points, signals and loco movements being controlled via DCC by some software called Rocrail. This is running in "goldfish bowl" mode where you sit and watch the trains move randomly, but obeying all the rules and signals and staying within one train per block. You can also run scheduled movements (that is next task) or drive one or more locos manually while the rest is automated. In this clip the trains move off very quickly, so the video is not too boring, the wait time can be adjusted.

On the whole yes, but it took a while to get my head around the concepts of blocks and routes. The forum is quite good for help, but the documentation is sometimes a bit cryptic. Usually a bit of trial and error is required. But for free it is pretty damn good, and I haven't found anything I haven't been able to do because of product limitations.
