Auto Reversing PIKO Mogul

Hello
I fitted a PIKO "Locomotive Driving Decoder" to my PIKO Mogul and I am having problems. The loco starts off OK but when it runs through some points, it stops and reverses without any intervention from the controller. I run the Massoth system which works perfectly for LGB and other decoders. Any ideas? Also, does anybody have the wiring colour connections for the original connector block in the tender if I decide to revert to analogue ?
Thanks
Bill

Does it have a power-buffer? - These can cause loco's to 'wander off' if analogue is on, and they loose power (dirty track / frog problems).

Hello
No it does not have a power buffer. Could be the answer. However , none of my other locos have one including my LGB mogul.
Thanks
Bill

Cracked it !!!! Set CV29 to 0 which is 14 speed steps and digital operation only and it works.
Thanks for your help.
Still not very pleased with this loco. The drive system is noisy and clicks as it drives.

Best Wishes
Bill

hmmm... you'll get better control setting CV29 =2, for 28 speed steps rather than 14.

Suggest check the track and wheels are clean, if the loco is tending to stop and/or change direction on DCC then the decoder is having trouble recognising the DCC signal, and treating it as analogue DC - hence setting CV29 to "digital only" has put a stop to that naughty behaviour!

Funnily enough I had a similar sort of thing happen yesterday evening when I ran an LGB decoder fitted loco onto a section of track I'd not yet cleaned. (first tme I'd run anything on my line for months!) It was fine after cleaning the track.
