Animating Playmobil's Mann crane

I have had the Playmobil overhead crane sitting on the shelf for two years awaiting the chance to animate it. For the last few weeks I have been putting all of the pieces together and came up with the following;

That is great. I've always thought that the Playmobil cranes are ripe for a bit of modding and motorising. They fetch quite a price on ebay sometimes though.

I have only painted mine up (it is in the background of the photo) but having the winch lift on an auto infra red switch feature would add some extra interest value to the scene ........mmmmm....yet another possible winter project.......
