Address '2' - Strange behaviour

This is a 'heads up'.. followed by an apology to our very own Mark (Muns)!!

Have a Stainz to fit a decoder in..
Number of loco is '2', so set address to '2'..

All is well except the lights don't work. Nada, not a glimmer.. Get a replacement decoder from Mark, and check the programming, change the address to '2', and new decoder does the same!
Set address back to default of 3, and hey-presto! We have lights!!
>:( >:(

So,
Brilliant service from Mark as normal.
Need an explanation from Massoth why their firmware is pants! And need to ask the Client what alternate address he would like. - Suppose I cold change the plates on his loco! ??? ;) :D ;D ;D

What Central Station Phil?

Just readdressed an LS to #2 using MTS3 and lights are fine! DiMax is not connected at the moment so cant try it.

I have just tried using MTS2 (p) and I see the issue you report.

Just tried the 1200Z - lights are ok with loco#2

MTS 3 loco no 3 is my problem address, any loco with that address has no lights

Some MTS3 central stations have a software bug affecting lights on address 3 and only that address. The MTS3 station I owned had this bug. Funny, considering that all locomotives have address 3 as the default address - should have thought that Massoth would have tested that address when the software was developed. Never heard that address 2 has the same problem.

Digitrax DCS50 is the weapon of choice..

Slightly lower track voltage, and seems to limit current better.. So far has not fried anything! - Except by my stupidity!!
I inherited it from my Father who was trying to setup a OO layout, and get to grips with DCC just before he had to give up due to failing health.
I also have a DB150, again Digitrax, so could try that as a separate power district I suppose?? Do not have a throttle for it at the moment.. A 'friend' discovered if you plug a Digitrax throttle into a Massoth bus socket, both units let the magic-smoke out! >:( :( ;)
But that is a story for another day!
