I've just bought an ABC shuttle and would appreciate a bit of guidance on wiring it up.

The diagram - seen here ABC Shuttle, pinched from another thread - shows the wiring as supply from a transformer and output to the rails via a controller.

My question is, can I use a combined transformer/controller and, if I can, how do I wire it up?

The polarity of the inputs does not matter.

The AC input will have a bridge rectifier which will sort things out for the control electronics.
I do not see why you could not use a single supply/controller for both the inputs.. Obviously, when setting a variable transformer for loco speed, you would need to be mindful of the supply voltage requirements of the left-hand connections.

Thanks, Phil, it does indeed work like that. Also, I found that connecting the external auxiliary feed from the transformer/controller to the input works.
