Methinks that I won´t be able to get a drone to fly in my cellar. :-\

There appeared to be one heck of a pile of coal for the live steamers!!
;) :D ;D ;D

Google cathedral mountain railway for more info.. Near Salisbury apparently..

I have wondered if a small one could be flown down the 'loft' to follow the Harz layout..
We have had the offer from a 'Dad' who brings his Son, of him filming some for us.. Go Pro Hero, or some-such was mentioned..
Either that, or I 'borrow' SWMBO's iPhone, and rubber-band it to the front of a 2-10-2. :o ??? ;) :D ;D ;D

It's a great line - I would have liked to have seen the progression of a train (it would allow you to fathom out where the lines go!). Both videos are interesting in their own right.

work of art but not for me,,, i prefer it trundling around the garden,,,,

Mick - I have been there a few times and made a number of films - and I still don't know how the layout works and where the train will appear next!
Must try harder :D
Cheers
Chris

actually i take it back,,, the ground level video shows it much better and that little hunslet runs great,,,

wondered who had bought all the aristo stainless track,,,

Ralph`s line is excellent, visited earlier this year.

Nice layout and a beautiful piece of property. Just viewed the ground level video, WOW!! If live steam is your thing, then that's the way to do it. With a slow running capability.

One other thing I noticed in the arial video was how steady the filming was. I presume that the camera was mounted on a hobby helicopter. If so, I didn't realize they could be controlled to be that steady.

It will have been filmed by a 4 or so Rotor Drone. These things are amazing and some even have Camera Steadying Gear. There was one at Statfold Filming once when I was there. Spoke to the guys and the set up was amazing.

Paul, many thanks for the ground level Vid Link, had seen this line somewhere before, but totally different from the Birds Eye View.

Jon - the ground level video of the Waril was a "Bird's eye view" too - one of mine ;D
Cheers

PS If you Google Cathedral Mountain Railway you will find some more that I made a few years back - not HD but they give some more perspectives.

Nice Railway I have always wondered what the track plan was like and this view from above shows it well :)

Some nice vids on those links. Never satisfied, is there a Drivers Eye Vid of the line?

I reckon that this line from Terminus back to Terminus with a little shunting en route would be just about at the limit of a Roundhouse Steaming at 20-25 minutes.
