A weekend project to overcome the power pickup issues with the Stainz. I wanted something a little different so settled on an 0-4-2 variant. Could just as easily be an 0-6-0 with the substitution of Stainz wheels on the rear axle and extra drive rods.

You're extremely adept at transformimg these ubiquitous locos into something unique - nice work Tim (following all your threads on this subject).:thumbup:
 
Mick,
considering that the venerable 'Stainz #2' is actually a hybrid model (wrong shape, wrong gauge), I have no problem making it anything other than what Wolfgang anticipated. I simply see them as parts to make something else.

I have an idea in my head to 'hinge' two modified Stainz together in a 'Fairlie' fashion, along the lines of the yet to be released LGB 0-6-0/0-6-0 locomotive/s. The Stainz would be a lot cheaper direction than the new Marklin release.
