A picture with every post.

Re: post #60 - Is there a 1 at the other end?

Oh, and here's the picture - the town band at St Valery sur Somme during the steam week-end in 2009. The railway interest is over to the left.

Because of the presidential elections in France next year the next event is likely to be in 2013.

Waterloo - Last days of Steam

It looks so long ago! Funny to think I was about the same age as some of those lads. Ah, the days one could lurk at the end of a station platform.

Meanwhile, here's a picture of something I've been dabbling in lately - an 0-4-0 tank in Sn3.5 scale, based on an Indonesian 3ft 6ins gauge prototype c. 1976. Still some way to go before it's finished.

Just finished helping the lads on the night shift, and its too late to go back to bed, so I give you the Jungfraubahn...

To introduce a little antipodean flavour into the thread (and to chance my hand at posting an image for the first time), here is South Australian Railways Y 97 (3'6" gauge, Beyer Peacock, 1890) at the National Railway Museum Port Adelaide.

Not sure what this is, but I do like it ! Looks like a Midland-origin tender and an Austerity 0-6-0 chassis ! Taken at Ropley 21 June 2003.

Hi, Today was reasonable weather so it was out with the camera and some thought given to some photos for a calendar - here is one idea through the buildings on my layout, with the DSP&PRR number 4 getting into the picture as well.

Enjoy.

A bit like a Midland 3F.
None preserved - great shame.

Trevithick's loco built from Airfix. Nice finish when painted in Humbrol 'Metallic Steel' and rubbed down:

It doesn't quite fit on 45mm track.

I got one a while ago - yours looks better then mine!
A pity it is not quite G scale but i use it as a platform display as the one once seen on Doncaster station.
