A line with no trains

rabbit rabbit, rabbitrabbitrabbit, bunny bunny, rabbit rabbit Oh you've more rabbit than Sainsburys.... won't you give it a rest..... :D:D thank you Chas & Dave...

While we had the scaffolding around the house for soffit painting, checking the roof and for me to clear all of the hard to get at gutters etc I climbed up, hung off of the bars and took a few aerial photos of the layout (the parts that are not hidden behind the bushes) with almost deserted lines....

A few pics yesterday before some Test Runs after the Jack rebuild. Look no Trains or Coaches or Wagons!

Outstanding photos. Wow

Couple more pictures from a train-less EG&SNNR taken at the exit of the Station Loop looking towards the main line:

Please ignore the above posting when pressed the wrong button and things went haywire.....lets try again....

Couple more pictures from the same spot where trains exit the station loop and head back to the main line:

If you then look at the same view from higher up behind the abandoned village you can see the original track bed comprised of R1 curves that were laid back in 2003/2004. I'm even thinking of relaying some old R1 curves to remind me how the railway first looked. The replacement curve for the R1 curve can be seem bottom right of the picture:

Excellent thread and captures what its like in real life, waiting for the next train. We all know from trainspotting that there are more hours with no movement on the line, just the sounds of nature or the city, the creak and pop of the rail expanding on a hot summer day or contracting late in the evening as the cool air and dampness settles in. The sound of a babbling brook or river flowing under the trestle. We sit trackside waiting, waiting for that next train to see what locomotive(s) will pass. Thanks for posting! Mike

Lovely evocative images, but lacking undergrowth, shrubbery, burned out cars, broken shopping trolleys, old motorbikes etc, you also need to add some graffiti to the buildings, damage the roofs and make sure all the glass gets smashed too.

Then it will look just like every other abandonned railway line that I have ever seen.
