3 Way Stub switch

For the last way evenings I have been working on a 3 way stub turnout.
The rail is all code 250 aluminum available from Back2Bay6 and so are the spikes.
The ties are hardwood from a local DIY place and the batons are oak.
The throwbar is 1/4 by 1/16 brass, not suitable for track power!

For those who are not familiar with stub switches, these were used in the early days of railroading. These fell out of popularity due to the fact that the rail has to line up every time perfectly. With these you are 'bending the iron'!

Next I will stain the ties and build a switch-stand.

Nice....

Re:3 Way Stub switch

That's lovely, very neat.

Stub points were used in industry, dockyards etc for a lot longer than they were on "main" lines.

Thanks guys!
John, the switchstand (hopefully) will take care of the alignment:nail:

Re:3 Way Stub switch

Thanks for the positive comments!

Ross, maybe I might consider making them for people in the future, after further practice- I want them to be 100% correct.
