I've delt with this chap before, knocking on a bit with a young Brazilian wife:bigsmile:.

I wonder if he'll shave a bit off the price????
That was an unkind cut Mel....

Well, someone got the "sort-of-Garratt" for 80 quid, no takers for the Fairlie-thing and the Stainz Crane (which isn't a bad idea, there is a (dockyard/steelyard?) crane loco at Bressingham based on the same concept).

I can't help wondering if they were actually a little better than they looked in the photos - taking the pics with them laying on their sides (hence all "floppy" at the articulation pivots) may have made them look a lot rougher thatn they are, would have been interesting to have seen them in running position on a length of track. With a repaint and some extra detailing, they might have been quite presentable?

I know that if I was selling a scratchbuilt or converted item, I'd try to show several photos from all around it so that the buyer knew what they were really getting.... but then again maybe they WERE that rough after all, so the less shown the better for the seller.... ;)

Rob, if he lives a few miles from you it's not the same bloke then! Assuming you are where your location says you are. If he is the same chap his house is really interesting too and he's always tons of other stuff to sell.

Dave picked up my buffers this afternoon, turns out he is a she, really nice couple
They have a nice raised layout in their back garden and a goodly collection of kit of all sorts, including quite a few scratch builds.

The kit they are selling is definately from their widowed friend, the money raised supliments her pension, giving her a nice bit of spending money.

Its from a very large in door layout, and they have only scratched the surface so far, there is lots more to come.

The chap that passed away liked to build oddball locos from genuine ones, he was fairly good at it, all of it runs ok, but the finish on some to (my eyes) could be much better.

The pic's don't do the items any favours they are actually better than shown.

Some of the ones i saw are in very good condition with it appears minimal use (and indoors mainly) especially the Black Zillertal they have on offer at the moment, wheels are still clean and appear not to have done a lot of heavy running ?? its a bit dusty.

I only went to pick up some buffers, but as its for a good cause i bought a few other bits whilst there  and i am fair ly sure i am going to go back again and have a good look at more of whats on offer

(for some reason Pic's refuse to load will try again)

only pic's i can get to load are the ones i have just taken, of the few bits i bought for the good cause  at a very fair exchange of readies

They even threw in a big box of comic's (their description) for free (old copies but as i am too tight to have bought any mags so far. i think they will provide quite a bit of reading pleasure)
