i am trying to make a wiring-plan for something that is new to me.
so far i did not come up with a solution, that seems to function.
anybody wants to torture his brain a bit?

what i did before, is run trains in circles, like in the first pic.
one half of the trains is wired in reverse.
the wiring was more or less like this:
(there were variations, but i don't want to sidetrack)

well, in reality it was more like this:

so far - no problem.
but as a former sailor, living in a half-desert, i simply HAVE TO include a harbour into my layout.
this harbour, as i vision it has two piers with two tracks each.
the trains drive on one of the piers, then back up on to the other, before they resume their journey around the circle.
so that the whole thing would be like this:

how to wire this "double wye" with sidings is what i am braining about. but it seems to be a real brainbuster.
the system is simple analogue DC.
i got more than enough turnout-motors and additional switches (double throw) and reed contacts avayable. (LGB and home-made clones)
this is, what has to happen:
let us pretend, that two trains (one normal, one reversed) are in the northern station.
i already coloured the rails after the polarity needed.

the right, outer loop represents the connection with the rest of the layout. for better understanding i leave that out for the moment.
one train leaves north-station, going into the main loop:

the goal would be to wire this with less than a hundred wires.
(on the other hand i would not like to let any reed activate more than two motors...)
anybody willing to help my overloaded brain back on track?

Is there a problem other than the 2 locos have opposite polarities? As far as I can see there's no reverse loop or triangle created by your plan. You just need to remember to turn the controller the "wrong" way when the reverse polarity loco operates.

Failing that, how about wiring a DPDT chage-over switch between the controller and the layout with one setting for loco 1 and the other for loco 2. Or am I missing something?

really, there is no problem, but the complexity of a lot of known things combined.
the layout is planned as fully automatic. once built, my part in the operation shall be reduced to turn on the main switch - and to turn it off after sessions.
the rest of the operation i will leave to magnets, reeds and switches.
there are six trains - three of each polarity.
there are six stations. two head-stations and four passing sidings.
generally it is a two step operation.
first step - all six trains leave stations one, three and five.
second step - all trains leave stations two, four and six.
(edit: i will alterate the pics two and three in the first post, to make that clearer)

naturally the trains at the two head-stations have to leave one after another, to avoid crashes.
and they have to go backwards between head-stations. (like they would in a wye)

Ah! I hadn't taken in the full complexities, having missed the fact that you want to operate automatically. That does change things, somewhat, and I'll leave the problem to someone with better electronic expertise.

that is an aparently more professional blocksystem, than mine.
but, where i am really stuck, is the combination of reversing polarity for backing up - with a priority system for two trains of different polarity wanting to use the same turnouts in different directions.
and, to complicate everything, just by using the avayable components.
(which are reeds, LGB turnout switches and LGB add-on switches.)
