I used to have this on the forum many moons ago so rather than trying to find it I thought I would start again. It will never come close to some of the offerings on here, I am not even a mediocre modeller, big hands etc. When I open a pot of paint my fingers are full of it before I reach for the brush, let's not mention glue!
Winton has seen many guises over the last 15 years and recently had a big rebuild for the construction of a fence hugging circuit with 10' diameter curves for the new Rio Grande F7A+B and stock.
There has also been a recent land grab that I appear to have got away with and together with the town is the subject of these few pics. I finish my part time work at the end of June and hope to have July, August and September on the railway but I have applied for a seasonal post at Blackpool zoo as an engine driver!!

Just arrived by Mr Postie, proper little Coronation Street - Mrs P is Gail Platt and the postie is Mike Baldwin! Anyhow, a trifle small but, I think, looks the part.

Been a bit of a lull in operations at Winton, the stock can stand the weather but not me! Anyway, yet another trip to Top Slots and came away with another Rio Grande ore car and a Santa Fe hopper. Darren now stocks the loads in iron ore and coal priced at small-£8.79 and large-£10.39. Postage on orders is £2.99 flat rate.

Nice and cool in sunny Blackpool, finally getting the railroad up and going with mortar replacing gravel for roads and the vehicles coming out.

I checked the gutters and drains a couple of weeks ago and the muck sure builds up in dry spells. When the rain starts it'll catch the unwary out!
