ta steve, i kid you not, a bastard file.. the tiles are a strip of foambord, 25mm wide..make it as long as u like, me, i do 30cm..i use a razor saw to rough up the surface.. then i use the file along both long edges.. then cut a 30mm segment off, file one short end.. you have 1 tile..

it was so cold last night, ondensation formed on a metal level i have above the work bench.. the water, driped onto the goods shed roof.. and into the gutters.. i found out this afternoon when i took the roof of to paint the chimmny/office walls/floor,./. i thought it funny.. now need to fit working down spouts!!

I have watched all your progress on lgb and overly impressed with your scratch builds. Such detail and patience. Am hoping to use your posts when I get round to starting my scratch builds, a few ideas are a logging mill, mining area arched bridges. What thickness foam boards do generally work with? Am in the throes of a lollipop stick water tower will try to post some pics soon of my progress. Alas not loads of build photos but a few

It's 3mm thick foambord. . I just take a few photos as I go along . And thanks
Today was downpipes. .brackets and lead flashing ...
So who had spagbol for dinner then? Possibly 2 plates looking at the flashing 
I'm looking at weighing down some Roco HOe flat wagons using lead flashing left over from a 1:1 shed

A great build as usual Mike.
Your 'suite' of buildings on your layout really make that 'northern town' atmosphere with the style of lintel, type of brick and general ambience.
I have used the tomato puree tube trick for flashing as it also goes a nice shade of oxidised lead after some time.
I first tried 'silver' gaffer tape but although it did look okay at first, it tended to curl away from the wall/roof after a couple of years as the tape adhesive dried out. Real metal is a much better solution.
