Where do old reviews/photos go?

Is there some time limit on photos/reviews? Several times I will read a thread that mentions a review etc, sometimes with a link for this site, nine times out of ten the link can’t find the article. Same goes for photos, lots of them are just boxes with a red cross. Is it down to to storage capacity of the site? Very frustrating, as I usually am seeking information that was dealt with years ago. For instance, there was a review of the Piko BR80 by Whatlep that mentioned adding weight, something I wanted to do, plenty of mentions in threads, but no way of getting the review.
I must confess that forums are not my strong point, so my searches are possibly faulty!

The Forum has been through a number of iterations of software..
Some of the picture hosting sites are no more..
If a user leaves the Forum, there content can be removed..

It is unfortunate, but much of the knowledge from the past, will be lost

I have been making a start to collect old fots that have been x’d out on my line build early posts. Trouble is remembering which of the many pics I used! This could take some time.
