The Manx Electric Railway on the Isle of Man have several like yours and call them "tower wagons" lovely model
Did my first bit of modelling, since my eye op, yesterday afternoon, well painting actually. I set myself up on the patio table and did a bit of al fresco artwork. I have finished the base coat of brown on the coal staithes and made a start on the coal scales. Still much more to do before they are finished. Delivery of paints from Precision Paints just arrived, ready for future projects.

Trouble with the BR Railway was that there were so many acronyms one tended to make up your own translation based on likely possibilities. The current Railway or perhaps Modern Railways scribes is even worse. My personal best for the Railway was Automated Input (of) Diagramming Systems, rejected for some reason that to this day I fail to understand.

a Roco WLANmaus working via this:
an Arduino with an Ethernet shield and an RS432 to communicate with this:
Works well in the garden as the wifi range is good. Can control loco speed, functions and turnouts.

On my bench today 2 piko coaches to have interior lights fitted cheaply, Bought of evil bay 2 sets of led strip lights coplete with 9v battery box with on/off switch
fixed batterey box to underside of coach, drilled hole through bottom into restroom area of coach, attached led's to roof, Had to extend wires a little, Job done.
Total cost under £11 for both coaches. Pic is not great sorry but does show the difference in coaches, 1 with lights on and 1 without. Battery boxes can be seen on underside of coaches in middle

Now there's a man who takes his duties seriously. No chance of him allowing a handful of nutty slack for the crew bothy stove!
