Yes thank you.

I understand you made 1 welding by 1 welding leaving the parts to be assembled on heat protection Matt so that they stay in the expected position.

Todays shenanigans: I have always liked these wagons. They were (are?) made by Bachmann and are supposed to be an American "side tip" Mining car. Plenty of a similar design on these islands though, in collieries and Iron Ore workings etc. Out of the box they look a bit plastic and have a HUGE buckeye (Knuckle) coupling. Phots show one out of the box and one I have weathered down a bit and replaced the coupling with a centre rubbing plate (Swift Sixteen). Only 17 more to go. These will be done like an assembly line not one at once. The dismantling has begun! ( I cant believe the price of these things now, I think I paid £20 each for em, and I thought that was a lot!)

1) Out of the box

2) Post treatment

Been soldering and cutting sundry bits of metal, the 7 water cranes are looking more like cranes now. Just wheels to finish, and fit plus bags to add using heat shrink then it will be cleaning up, etch spray then spray.

Oh and this arrived today, just when the sky iis looking to be all cloudy for a few nights.

Yup indeed it is, sort of wanted one for a long time but was convinced that I should get one by a Start Gazing friend. Thus far it is just under £200 worth of lenses and metal due to the night sky at the moment being all gray. Looking forward to a clear night but on the minus side I think I may have just missed a full moon. Oh well it will come round again. Just hope I do not see any unexpected upliftings of gas from Mars!.

I never owned a telescope, but still was very much into astronomy as a kid, even went to summer camps about astronomy.

They are pretty cheep these days, I have seen them in Aldi and Lidl at about half the price I paid. Not sure of their quality but I expect you could ask Google about that.

I have a bird watching scope but a reasonable quality one start around £300.00, I did buy a Lidl/Aldi (not sure which) scope, but the quality was very poor, but for £30.00 what can you expect.

As ever you get what you pay for.

Quite right you may want to see her yourself, actually both are wonderful neighbors including their spouses so perhaps I was a little naughty talking the way I was. Bad boy!

I have fitted the additional bicycle supports to my new Wismar Railbus. Not the best piece of engineering by me, but very noticeable so I wanted to add them. I am hoping they will work on the model like the ptotype and stop the bikes from falling Off. Find out when the weather is good enough for a run.3A70D86D-AA5A-4225-ABFE-EB3BBE019982.jpeg46B8D460-EDFC-48FF-B40B-63ECFF1337AE.jpeg

Well, not exactly on the bench, but working on my track laying.
The pictures attached show the rough creation of my L shaped loop. I built the sub road bed and loosely attached track to confirm the shape. And of course to run a train.
And now the first 23 feet of sub roadbed has been leveled staked and painted.
A passing siding needs to have the sub roadbed built as well.
Thanks for looking,
George

I like that you build these supports. I Googled them, they also served for milk cans. (And probably many other things.)
