As I extremely like to see pictures of WIP projects, why not have a general thread? Also you can display your workbench in various states of operation...

At the moment I’m working on the second RTM wagon, which originated as an LGB 4033 Chiquita wagon.

Never ever throw away the pieces! They DO come in handy!

Secret stash of assorted glue. Yes I use them all!

I have a few projects on the go at the moment, first one is my take on Creative Mom work. A sort of Warehousy Grainy Malty Storey thingy. Made just out of old cardboard as the Mom does. Will not be a pretty thing but surprising how they come to life when painted.

Then there is the other side of the workshop where there ought to be a working 00 Railway but it is a resting house for unfinished projects like the Trainline Mallett which has stalled due to a likely Hall Sensir malfunction then the Water Tower that is waiting a good dose of weathering. The 00 has stalled due to clicking Cobolt Point Motors that were due to be replaced with Servos but that has not happened because I cant get the Megapoints Servo Board to work. Probably me!C9540975-0C6C-459A-BA11-985A22FC8863.jpeg
But at least the Glue and Paint stash is looking healthy.

That's what I use, but at present No1 child has commandeered it for her university projects
I used to have a small bench with a tiny draw at one end that was my mist productive bench ever. If all fails a good solid tray on your lap is better than nothing.

Here’s a test to see how plexiglass (??) can be glued to polystyreen. I used four different glues.

2FB6BE95-E085-488C-B9A2-0A6A5BE2C2DA.jpeg

Tamiya: water thin glue
Sec: superglue (any brand will do)
L530: plastic glue adviced by local model shop
Revell: Revell Contact

Surprisingly most glues worked ’quite ok’. The Tamiya and superglue scored best.

I also tested plexiglass - plexiglass and then it’s hands down for the superglue.

The workbench at the Claptowte Railway Workshop has had to expand onto a temporary larger surface as the company is hedging its bets and branching out.

Yes I thought the reason for this was to see who had the biggest mess in their man room. Pretty sure that Henri is winning at the moment.
