Now finishing off the fake grass install. Where it’s gone in so far it’s really added some colour to this bit of the layout which passes through a pergola.

Done and happy with the results! Possibly a ‘bit much’ at the moment, but will ballast and then think about how to tone it down a bit. 95964C81-0878-45AD-A7E9-8611DA4A1A6E.jpeg9CABB769-8A28-4E8C-BFBE-460E257F7A23.jpegD04E9C27-C184-4FF4-AB89-AFD0DBE4EF01.jpeg

A bit much? Have a look at the prototype:

Just look at this, tram central in grass verge, cycle/pedestrian way either side of that. Then Trees both sides of that and then road with presumably houses after that. This is the way to plan a Town, a lesson that UK Town planners could learn to make a suitable happy environment to live in. Fat chance.

Yebbut, just where do we have the space on our tiny, cramped island ?:think:

How about new developments? Instead of laying out acres of Motorway a dual carriageways in this could be done.

If that tram is in Holland, they haven't any more space than the tight little island. Just a bit more imagination -- which is also sadly lacking in the wide open spaces of North America.

They haven't even arranged for new properties to have vehicle charging points yet, so anything really complicated is going to take a few centuries

They may not have more space in total sq miles, but they only have a quarter of the population to rattle around in that space.

Part of the problem on our tiny island is a population of almost 70 million souls - and by the way, Scotland has a smaller population that London :eek:

There's the solution, then >:): Send half the population of London to northwest Scotland and the other half to Ellesmere Island. Declare the area a sanctuary for ferrel pigeons.

If they are going to be that far north...

Shouldn't they be Fair Isle Pigeons?

I should have been more precise: Declare what is currently London to be a pigeon sanctuary, barred to humans.

Yes, repeated governments have been unpopular for acting like that. The argument has been that, if a person is economically inactive, then it doesn't matter where they live (if the government is exercising their duty in providing housing accommodation).

It was not a popular policy as eBay Mike will tell you - exporting all the benefit receivers to the unpopulated areas on the south and east coast didn't go down well, and although Scotland is a little further out of the way, I doubt that the Wee Burnie would go quietly on that one :devil::devil:

Called thread drift, but as soon as someone actually does some modelling, and tells us about it, we will be back on track. - See what I did there? :)
