What happened at your workbench today?

Not doing anything train-related today, but I am at least at my workbench - preparing hundreds of little half-inch Nazis for painting! :D

To explain, 15mm tall wargaming figures for France 1940 games - getting the Germans out of the way first, British (BEF), French and Belgians to follow....

Jon.

Edit: now that was very interesting - the forum system allowed me to say "Nazi", but last week it wouldn't let me say"C*v*d" - go figure...?

Shouldn’t that be 12.7 mm Nazi?
We must be up to date in Kansas City.

I was rounding down for comedic effect...

The figures are actually about 17mm tall to the top of their tin hats, as the "15mm" description is the nominal height of an average male figure from soles of feet to eye-level - it equates to round about 1/100 scale, or at least close enough for Government work....

See, railway modellers aren't the only ones who can use weird ways of describing scales to totally confuse anyone outside the hobby... :D

Bit big for TT120!

Made a start on the roof, base is a plywood sheet with a smaller piece to locate it underneath, the main roof will be balsa wood, layered with a gap in the middle for lights.

I didn't realise the Worsley etch came sans roof - I tried a similar things with my scratchbuilt railbus, but as I wasn't aiming for a specific target, it didn't really fit the bill, so to speak

I think most Worsley works etchings are sides and ends, more of a scratch building aid, so chassis, roof etc is down to the builder!

That was exciting..... :wondering:

SW decided to count the battery stock, as there is nothing much on the haunted fishtank..

All of a sudden, she jumped up and came over to me with the plastic box, saying Oh! - I thought she had spotted a big spider, perhaps?

Nope! With the sound of fireworks in the distance, she had a smoking battery pack. - It was obvious which one, as one of the nickel-silver strips between cells, was beginning to glow!
Grabbed some cutters, removed the connecting lead, and the pack is sitting in the middle of a slabbed area outside for the night.

Even NiMH packs can be 'interesting'. That is why I say:
ALWAYS! - Fit a fuse.
