loving those pendelbury models ...in your opinion are they better than british outline buildings ... im about to purchase there station and a few other bits and pieces ...so your opinion would be very helpful

To be perfectly honest, I can't answer that as I have never built a BOB kit. All I can say is that the Pendlebury models just ooze character and that Stockers offers an excellent service and does a very good deal for members of this forum in my experience.

I've also built resin buildings by T&M, Modeltown and Lineside Delights and the Pendlebury kits stand up really well compared with them.

I'm sure that Alan would be more than happy to discuss your needs via a PM?

lovely models Alan .... i like the red brick finish ...might stick with the BOBs station as its a bit bigger ...but maybe you could help out with all the lineside stuff .. im looking for a signal box a water tower.the warehouse might be good on my dockside , a refueling point to start with ...

The warehouse is one of my favourites, I converted mine to make it low relief (really easy to modify these kits).

I can recommend the lineside hut too. Just my sort of thing.

Nicely rusty Mel. I like that.

Wow... The narrows is shaping up to be better than before! (and for those of you who dont know Mels narrows inspired my own, though mine are far from finished and no where near as good)

Well, mine are far from finished too Chris. But as promised, a couple of views of the finished terrace as it will fit in with the railway. The plastic board base is temporary.

Front view with the Wangerooge diesel appearing onto the road crossing with a timber train.

Rear view. You may notice that the recent wet weather has caused a bit of a weed issue. A plan is in place to deal with this.

Looking good Mel but weeds? I see no weeds just lush greenery mate!!

Yeh, fair comment mate. The ones that are growing under the trees etc. will just get the occasional trim so that they provide a bit of greenery. However, the ones around the factory have to be dealt with. That Landy is fast disappearing!!

The weed problem around the factory and private sidings has been dealt with using membrane and a large bag of gravel.

At least they can get to the unloading dock again now. Also re-cycled many of the items of "clutter" from the old layout ......

....... together with some re-built, re-fettled buffer stops.

Still a few weeds about to be trimmed occasionaly to provide a bit of greenary.

Brillaint Pics Mel:thumbup:

The cottages are excellant

The factory area and well spaced sidings look very good indeed -
the buildings in the background set the scene off too
clutter used to good effect
nice

Thanks Steve and Paul.

Bram, Whatlep and Paul from the G Scale Society are coming for a pla .......... errr ........ intensive test session next Monday (2 O'clock kick off if anyone else i able to get over to Bewdley BTW), so I thought I'd better get me finger out and build the storage sidings. This is also the last bit of track laying that is currently planned.

The hard part was getting the 1st slab (4 x 2' slabs making a 2' x8' area) correctly lined up with Stumpy Junction. After that, all the rest just had to be laid to the same level.

The standard maximum train length on the WGLR is 4 x 4 wheeled wagons plus a brake van, 4 x 4 wheeled coaches, 2 x bogie coaches or any such combo. This length of train fits into sidings one and two. I even managed to dig out a RH point which I'd forgotten I had and this allowed me to add a kick-back siding ideal for the track cleaner ........ or maybe even a steam-up bay ;).

The piece of slab underneath is just being stored. You might also have noticed the cutting edge remote control apparatus for operating the Piko point at Stumpy Junc................ ie, a long stick .

Only job that remains is to fit isolation switches to each siding. Having bought a car full of second hand track off IanS for this project, I certainly ain't got much left!!

Coming on nicely Mel....

Absolutely gorgeous day here today and trains have been running an intensive service. Although there's still a lot left to do, I've started putting a few more people and vehicles out after their Winter hibernation.

Anyhoo, the Spreewald was on duty with a timber train.

(Netty - your Blackberry bushes doing well in the background  )

The breakdown crane needed to be returned to the depot. following all the recent track work.

ex Wangerooge diesel tows it's small train over the viaduct..............

......... before passing through the town section as Harold stops the traffic. Harold's nickname is C&A (as in "Man at C&A), although he actually gets his uniforms tailored by William Gorange.
