6foot viaduct , is that high or long :bigsmile:

On the grounds that we'll have to step over it, better not make it 6' high Phil. We'd have to take up pole vaulting :rolf::rolf::rolf:.

and Mike would have to take up mountaineering :bigsmile:
I thought he could just duck uner the arches.....

Wouldn't have to duck

I'm suprised you are keeping the small loop at Wetton Mel- would you actually use that do you think? Can't help but think it's a bit of a waste of that space- but you knew I'd find something to complain about ;)

Why not run the railway through the middle of that patch, i.e. shift Wetton station back a couple of foot, and have a bit of a town scene going on around it?

Well, I couldn't think of any critical to say about the new bit, it looks great... so I had to grumble about the old bit. Grumpy old Matt :D

Oh come on Matt, think about it. If I took the Wetton loop up I wouldn't be able to run trains for the next couple of months .......... and that would just be silly.

That is very, very true.

OK, what about when you've built the new bit :P

You'd have been worried about me if I hadn't found something to grumble about...

Seems some people haven't got the same drive as you Trevor. I can't understand the delay:rolf::rolf:

Limbo dancing?
If the Spreewald needs constant running, just to keep it in fettle, I'm your man

Looks like a good plan Mel , cant wait to see your Viaduct:thumbup:

I do think you should listen to Brainthesnail with his wealth of experience in track laying :rolf:

Perhaps Matt could build the viaduct? Y'know, put all that studying to good use.
I'm sure Structures & Materials would have featured in the Engineering degree....

Aaaaaaaanyway - latest news from the front is that all the (ex) railway stuff is now gone ....... or it will be next time I go to the tip. That just leaves 2 aviaries to take down and then it's the apple tree's turn.

I know that many people liked the old town section (as did I), but the plain truth that's become apparent during the demolition is that the baseboards were a reet bodge job and wouldn't have lasted much longer anyhoo. Some of you may remember that they were constructed (thrown together) at the same time as the infamous kitchen re-build - well, that's my excuse anyway. To be honest, I was never really happy with the running qualities through the town section, mostly due to the crepe baseboards - although, to be fair, I always had it in mind that that section was temporary and that one day I'd strike out into the rest of the garden.

Still, we learn from our mistakes, to err is human and all that. I've learnt my lesson and the new bit will be built to a higher standard as far as track laying is concerned.

As Frank Spencer's mum used to teach him, "every day, in every way, I'm getting better and better". Mind you, she must have been a reet pillock.

All gone ..................

I'll have to work fast ............ the wife has already noticed that this is starting to look like a garden :@.

Took me a minute to work out where that was in your garden, Mel!

Can't wait to see the re-born narrows.....and Matt, that loop comes in handy....;)
