I appreciate this is tantamount to heresy, since most decent folk on the forum take the time and effort to weather their own stock.

I have a few things I would like weathered (a couple of locos and a wagon), but I'm not artistic and really don't have the spare time (or I suspect the patience :) ) to learn. That probably sounds terrible...
Can anybody recommend someone offering weathering services, ideally close to either Gloucestershire, Surrey or Birmingham?

Thanks!

You could try this crew. They specialise in OO gauge but I am sure that they might consider a commission to do G scale.
I bought a couple of their 00 gauge locos where they get a brand new item and customise it, and they are very good looking indeed.

Another suggestion for you:

Just seen theri offerings at the Stafford Show.. Looked to be very good, and their prices for the smaller scales seemed quite reasonable.
Not a customer, just happened to see this, and remembered the request..

Brilliant stuff. Thanks very much for remembering my post and for taking time to feed back Phil. I'd wondered about Grimy Times and GC Weathering on the basis of a bit of surfing, the galleries on their websites and the feedback they seemed to be getting from the other gauges.

These 2 and TMC all seem pretty good. I think I may try approaching them in the near future and see what they say to a G scale commission. I've got a lil critter I'm happy to send off as a test subject.

Needless to say, I'll post back the results!
