Warenburg.de sales on eBay

I have received an intriguing email from Warenburg to say that they are barred from international sales on eBay but can still be found on ebay.de.
Strange.

I got the same email, Keith - trying to decipher their less-than-perfect English translation, I THINK that what they are saying is that International customers can still buy items from them, just not via eBay itself - I think they want us to check their German ebay listings for the items they are offering, them email them direct so they can quote prices and availability to order off-eBay.
At least that's how I read it - I suspect a lot of other folks here will have got the same emails today, if anyone else can confirm or contradict my understanding of it then please chip in! ;)

I have just looked at their listings on ebay.de. Everything there appears normal. In the process I spotted a couple of items I have been looking for to finish a coach I have been building from 'bits' for some time.

When I think about it I have always bought via their .de site and never on ebay.uk

It is probably because they have got too many complaints about ripping people off for excessive postage. They really did me last time after being OK for the previous two times.

Yes their minimum postage amount is a problem bearing in mind that usually you are buying oddments unless you buy numerous items

To be fair, they did let you build up a box of bits without chasing for payment. I think I was about four weeks last time, and got up to 10 items or so.

I have gone as long as 6 weeks although they did once miss off an item I had paid for. &:

I have used them before and have been able to go for about 5 weeks gradually building up a pack of bits and bobs which made the postage not uneconomic. There is not another seller on ebay, that I know, that allows this.

I have spoken to them by phone recently and they have been banned from international selling due to one person in UK complaining to Fleabay about the postage. A bit unfair really as the seller does post in the description how much the shipping is. So if a person bids and then complains it shows that either the person was trying to try a flanker or that they did not bother to read the postage cost in the first place.
Anyway they will, at some time in the future, be back to selling to UK but in the interim they have sent the message out for buyers to send in their wishes for spares directly to the company rather than waiting for when Fleabay lifts the ban.

Coincidentally (?) I got an email from Ebay today all about some new User Agreement, Privacy Policy and International Selling. I haven't read it yet...it's long, but I suspect it's all related...

Not sure that Ebay will be within the "spirit" of Free Market Trading within the EEC by what they have done. Would be interesting if we had a politician amongst us to take them to task on that Policy.
