To complete my initial layout I am looking for a half circle of approx 900 mm curved track, currently I am looking at Piko G-R3 35213 Curved Track R3 920mm selling at £10.79 each, has anybody any secondhand for sale that could meet my requirements - many thanks

I assume that's the price from Top Slots'n'Trains, Jimmy? That's a good price, I bought 8 pieces of the same from them a couple of months back and their service was excellent (ordered online Sunday night, arrived in the post Tuesday).
I've never seen much Piko track for sale secondhand, though of course you just might get lucky; you might also be able to find some secondhand Aristocraft of a similar (not identical) radius, though if you get offered any of that then do check whether it is "Euro" or "USA" sleeper spacing - if that matters to you of course.....

Jon.

Last time I went to KGR there were still a few part boxes of Aristo-Craft and Accucraft curves, so it may be worth while giving Andy a call.

As Aristo do (did?) their curves in radius (or is it diameter?) by feet, some 3 foot radius (6 foot diameter) would probably do you nicely as an alternative to the Piko R3.....

The ML_Train track does come with rail clamps though which themselves are not cheap and work better the the push together fish plates.

Quite a good price from Modell-land - especially with Massoth-style railclamps costing around a quid a pop if you buy them over here (I do notice that ML have bulk bags of them at a good discount though).
As mentioned above, there is the shipping to consider (18 Euro flat rate, whatever you buy) and another little "hidden" extra is that the do charge you a premium - about 5% last time I checked - if you want to pay through Paypal..... ML seem to prefer you to use Bank Transfer. They are a reliable and trusted supplier, many folks on here have bought from them in the past (I've had several locos from them!).

Good spot about the number of sections to a circle though, Jimmy - that does make a considerable difference!

If you need LGB spare parts it would be a good place to top up the order with track and rail clamps.

The problem with bank transfer..
It is to a foreign bank in a 'foreign' currency.. So that costs as well! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Jimmy. Can you wait for a couple of days? I've got a stack of used track but don't have time to sort through it until Wednesday or Thursday. There's no Piko but there is Aristo and USA trains plus LGB. I just need to check the radius and quantity.

Mike many thanks, I have loads of LGB R1, and a few LGB R3, what I need is enough (any make) to a half circle (minimum) 900 - 1000 mm radius, no real rush, just wish to get my first full circuit finished during the summer so that i can enjoy it.

Have you considered making a part R2 / R3 circle? If you use sections of R3 at the ends of a half circle of R2 it can work quite well making a more gentle transition from the straight track? I have a small amount of these if any help.

I checked and the Aristo-Craft track size was 6.5 foot diameter if you can find any.
