We will be arriving in the UK tomorrow. We're staying on a farm not too far from Oxford. We've rented a car so hopefully it will allow us to scout around a bit. Not sure if I will be able to log onto the forums once we are in country, but I will certainly give it a shot.

Have a safe flight and a great stay over here, Dan - good luck with the driving (re the previous very long thread...). Being in Oxford, you are dangerously close to the emporium of G scale wonders that is Garden Railway Specialists - not the cheapest stockist, but a fascinating shop to browse for a few hours - they will probably manage a cup of coffee for you and your Better Half, if you haven't managed to find something else for her to do that day.... ;)

Thanks all. We will have a visit with Ian Thompson of Coggs railway fame. He promises to get some rail fanning. SWMBO likes it a little bit so I won't push my luck too much.
 
Hi Dan

I was going to message you to find out your dates. I live in Abingdon which is only 6 or 7 miles south of Oxford and I thought we could have met up, but early Saturday morning we will be off to Mallorca for week of Mediterranean warmth. so I guess we will miss each other.

How long are you staying in Oxford? I live just between Abingdon and Oxford but am a bit busy until after Tuesday 4 th Oct , if you would like to meet up?

We visited Blenheim yesterday. That's about as royal as we will most likely get.....lol
