R/C Bachmann BH - no tender, no remote, no bell, no safety valve, no chimney, no cylinder cover, no cut bar, distorted front end, etc.

I find it a little hard to comprehend this particular meaning of "Very good condition" - am I a little thick?

It does look very clean though! Almost as if someone has never used it but robbed it for parts.

No, I'll leave it to someone who believes what they read ;)

Interestingly, someone has 'informed' him, and the listing has changed.. Perhaps he genuinely did not know there was loads missing. - Always think the best of people, me! ::)

Now £4 for spares / repairs.. Does look like it has been cannibalised for bits..

It is located in Brixton, so missing most of it's bits is of no surprise :D I remember driving through there when training for my PSV licence, our instructor jokingly said, "I hope we don't get any red lights, the wheels will be gone by the time they turn green".

Me, I just see it like describing a car a being in very good condition - front end damage, no bumper (fender over the pond), no exhaust system, no horn, and more .....

I wouldn't think any the worse of the seller - he posted loads of pics (you would have to been an alien - just coming on this planet for the first time - not to be able to deduce that all was not just right).

I look it the same way I look at TV 'Period' drama productions with glaring non-period objects. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well you have to have a hobby, don't you ;)

My comment was meant as very tongue in cheek. Of course it isn't in good nick, half of it's missing.

I know that Gareth - I'm turning into a Victor Meldrew ;D

All you need to buy to finish this off is a 3D printer and scanner ;D :( :o ??? :P

Seriously though folks, what are the mechanisms like on these? Looks like a battery operated loco with plastic wheels to me (not really knowing anything about them). Would it be worth a punt to pick up some useful bits for kitbashing or are these mechanisms not really worth it?

I have two (had three but canabalised one to make a Heisler and sold on the chassis) and they are OK I suppose.

I might yet put a bid in for it ;)

After you, Mick. You spotted it first. I don't want to get into a bidding war with a mate and I'm not really that bothered about constructing yet another loco at the moment

You might as well go for it Rik - the seller may not post to here anyway! Thanks.

I paid £10 for one from a forum member when I just wanted its body [e]20[/e][e]20[/e]

I could do with a new body :o

Nothing wrong with buying the materials (if you have to - Yorkshire Tyke Mode on). You can get an awful lot of materials for the price of a 3D printer!
