Hi All

Does anyone have any suggestions for removing paint from a USA trains body shell. My EL 44 tonner needs to loose its maroon band before gets painted MEC black

thanks

I have sanded some of my painted logos and stripes off with 1200 grit sandpaper. If it is plastic and a larger stripe, I have been using Easy Off Oven Spray outside (the fumes are really bad and don't touch the contents) to remove paint on a lot of plastic train cars. But it cannot sit on the other factory paint or plastic for too long. AJ

There are some extensive threads on MLS and LSC on paint removal, there are all kinds of techniques. Most are liquids and different liquids work differently on different paints and plastics.

I'd search those 2 forums, I remember a really detailed and helpful thread on one of them.

I found that spilled LGB smoke fluid removed the paint on my 44tonner.
It was not intended!
