Turntable / Roudhouse

I think you will find that there are two smoke units, and it is DCC.
There is someone fitting this to 00 models, but a full installation is about £500.00 I believe.

For large scale, battery powered, I would investigate using one of the small 'fogger' units, as they run cold, and take a lot less current,

Back to the turntable and ADM, there must be a "reset" or calibration point, because a stepper motor never really knows where it is unless you run it to a "hard limit"... there's not much information on the site about this.

(I worked for several years with a small company called Hewlett Packard, and we had stepper motor driven x y plotters, and we had to initialize the position at startup by driving it to a corner until it stopped and then say that is 0,0. There is no limit here to reference a zero point, as the turntable can go 360 degrees).

Thanks for that, Phil. I shall have to consider something less exotic -- but aren't they fantastic models! A minor point -- what is a small "FOGGER" unit? I have been toying with a Hang Leng smoke unit used in their amazing model Tanks -- but nothing settled yet.

How about moving the smoke discussion to another thread, since it seems to want to continue, and respect the OP on his quest for a turntable?
Though I agree, but doesn't drift make a good thread ;)
