Trolley Modeller? This is for you...

You buy it Trev and give us a review ;D

Well, I'll chance my arm for a few quid. I've asked for the UK postage so we'll see how much it turns out to be. maybe he'll just put it in a drop-box somewhere.

Well, my disk turned up today just in time for crimbo, and it is just what it says it is - someone has scanned 916 pictures, slides, postcards, pamphlet pages of trolleys and interurbans onto a DVD. I would say that most of the material is mid fifties to mid sixties with a sprinkling of old postcards. Theres a fair few amateur colour shots of interurbans. The quality isn`t brilliant but theres a whole load of content I`ve never seen in colour. Basically someone has passed away and the seller has created the DVD from his collection. Its a nice gesture, and for £5.50 inc postage from the US I would hard pushed to complain.

Anyway on to a few examples. Trev Mick & David go into the freight business....

Oh ! I`ve just found a folder with a 100 or so railroad pictures - I`m assuming that this is similar to the one Bachmann modelled

For me though, its the Interurban stuff - an era I wish I`d seen.

A whole lot of "modelling potential" there and obviously great scope to get the atmosphere "right"....

So true, All my colour slides that I took in the 50`s 60`s & 70`s were thrown out. Yet when my Dad was about 17 he used to help Max Dupain lug all his gear around and Dupain stored boxes of negs in a shed behind Dads house in Bondi. They were forgotten about and only "rediscovered" when Grandad moved house.... Turned out they were all Dupains "seconds" and we negotiated a deal that as payment for storage we could have prints of any we wanted. Thats how I can afford Dupain originals  to hang in my house.

There are numerous online archives, I have sought permission to use pictures from the State Archive free as long as I don`t use the images for financial gain.

Nice pics Trev - that recovery truck looks interesting.

I ordered (won) the CD. Coming in at under £10 including postage, it's great value at a one pence a picture!
