TRAMCAR BOW COLLECTORS

My G-scale, garden 'Tranvia Electrico' is nearing completion (this lockdown has been good for something) and I am now turning my attention to the rolling stock.

I want to have my fleet fitted with Bow Collectors and have been trying to buy some of the LGB Lyra-bugel from Maerklin. Unfortunately their prices have drifted upwards from "That's a bit steep!" to "Bloody Hell!!!" and the Mail Order Dept seems to have decided to boycott post to GB. Three times I have tried to buy the bows and each time Maerkin have rejected my order.

So, if any of you have any bows that you would like to sell/swap for Bachmann trolleys let me know.

I have considered making my own Lyra-bugel but have been unable to find soft enough springs. If any of you know a friendly spring winder please give me his address.

Hello tramwayknowledge,
if you mean this, then I have 4/5 new and used Lyra pantographs from LGB. I don't need all of them. I can take a closer look tomorrow. They are in the work shop.

I am currently in my workshop and have found 5 Lyra pantographs. 2 older and two new models. All four have never been used. Another is a used one that was once painted in silver. The paint peeled off and one of the cross braces was re-soldered. All spring plates are included.

Older ones, absolutly new= 20,00€ each.
Newer ones, absolutly new= 22,00€ each.
used one 15,00€.

Insured shipping costs around € 15.00. to UK. _DSC3603.JPG_DSC3604.JPG_DSC3605.JPGIf interested, please via PM

Hello tramwayknowledge,
ok tomorrow I'll pack them together and go to a Post shop, nearby. After that I write you and tell you the cost if shipping, I would prefere a secured shippmend. Paying via PayPal is possible.

Thanks for your answer, Peter,

I prefer to pay by PayPal. cheque or cash. I am happy to wait until the payment has cleared into your account in Germany, before you post the collectors. You are well-known on this site and I am sure that you would not defraud me by running away with 5 bow collectors ! :p

If you discover any more bow collectors looking for good home in the future let me know

Scott

PS. I will have finished installing my tramway infrastructure by the end of July and I may have some of the LGB Siemens-type overhead line posts surplus to requirements. If any of them are interest to you let me know.

HI Scott, sorry for waiting for my answer.. I have been to a post shop. And it is possible to send the pantographs vie letter. It will be a regisgtered letter and than you have to add 8,00€ plus to the collectors.

I'll send you an email with my adress and the email for PayPal = All together 92,00€, please.
But...
What are LGB Siemens-type overhead line posts? Can you post a photo? I'm searching for my temporary layout some overhead posts, not sure yet what to use. The layoout is new and was shown first last year. Kids is allowed to run it on their own by Massoth controls.

If I can use your overhead line material, we can do an exchange.

my apologies for not replying sooner, I have been ill over the weekend. However I have been able to get out to my garden shed this afternoon to review my stock materials.
The masts that I am talking about are the LGB 'old time' Siemens-type masts, as shown here; -LGB mast.jpg
all the masts are complete but none of them have the clips to attach the contact wire to the span wire, the previous owner used to make his own hangers and use a round wire, rather than the LGB 'figure of 8' grooved wire. The current Marklin/LGB Parts List has the LGB clips for sale.

I am just completing the fitting of overhead equipment to my little tramline in the garden and I have 12 masts spare. I bought these masts second hand about 10 years ago, since when they have been stored in a box waiting for the construction of the tram line. The masts had previously been used on an indoor layout so there is very little corrosion or damage to any of them. However they are vintage pieces they are marked 'Made in Western Germany' so they are pre 1990 - a little piece of German history.

Was planning to put these on sale in the UK on a Garden Railway sales site , or on eBay UK. I know what these items sell for in the UK, but I am not so sure about their value in Germany...so you are welcome to make me an offer.

I am very happy to considering exchanges with you, so if you can add either;

- another two Bow Collectors to the 5 you have already offered
-or 1 extra Bow and a small scissors pantograph (my works shunter will need a pantograph.) to the 5 you have already offered

I think that we could make a deal without the bother of sending cash, or transferring money.

Hello Peter

sorry for the delay in responding, I was ill over the weekend, but I went out to my garden shed this afternoon to see what I have spare. I did post a message this afternoon, but it does not seem to have loaded properly, so here is a repeat version.

I have 12 of the LGB 'old time' Siemens-type masts with bracket arm. A picture of this sort of mast is attached.

I bought these masts about 10 years ag, but it is only now that I have had the time to build my little garden tramway, so the masts have been safely stored for these years. The first owner of the masts used them on an indoor model - so they are not rusted or stained. They are vintage items as they have the name 'LGB made in Western Germany' so they must be pre 1990...a little piece of German history!

The Masts and arms are all there. They do not have the clips to connect the Conductor Wire to the bracket arm as the previous owner of these mast used to make his own hangers to support round wire, rather than the 'figure 8 wire used by LGB. The LGB clips are available from Marklin.

I was planning to sell these masts on a UK site or eBayUK so I have an idea how much this would sell for over here, but I ham happy for you to send me an offer based on their value in Germany.

I am interested in your offer to exchange your Bow Collectors for my Masts.

- Would you be willing to exchange the 5 Collectors that you previously offered plus1 extra (6 in all) for the 12 Masts

- or for the 5 Collectors plus a tram pantograph (my Depot lok. will need a pantograph) for the 12 Masts?

If we can exchange then it will save the time and effort of PayPal or cash.

Scott

Thanks Mr Dunnyrail, 3 years on here and never used that button before.

Let's hope Herr Scheinenkonig gets back to me soon. I have been searching for these Bow Collectors for ages.

Hello Scott,
have you seen my pm, as dunnyrail explained? (thank you for that dunnyrail)

I have seen your message from last week, giving me your addressing PayPal account address.

Please confirm the price you want for the collectors and post to the UK. Let's get this done.
