My G-scale, garden 'Tranvia Electrico' is nearing completion (this lockdown has been good for something) and I am now turning my attention to the rolling stock. I want to have my fleet fitted with Bow Collectors and have been trying to buy some of the LGB Lyra-bugel from Maerklin. Unfortunately their prices have drifted upwards from "That's a bit steep!" to "Bloody Hell!!!" and the Mail Order Dept seems to have decided to boycott post to GB. Three times I have tried to buy the bows and each time Maerkin have rejected my delivery address.

So, if any of you have any bows that you would like to sell/swap for Bachmann trolleys let me know.

I have considered making my own Lyra-bugel but have been unable to find soft enough springs. If any of you know a friendly spring winder please give me his address.

I've made a primitive bow collector for this steeple cab build:

but I haven't sprung it yet. I'll follow this thread with interest.

Fairly easy to make one, brass wire & copper tube. I think the springs came from old Bachmann trolly poles'Bow1 (Medium).jpgBow2 (Medium).jpgBow3 (Medium).jpg
