It doesn't happen very often, but their are a few Bachmann and Liliput tram bargains to be had on fleabay just now, nowt to do with me other than I have made a purchase.

Slight thread drift but those searches also bring up a few Occre kits around or just over £100 for any that wish to indulge some complex but very satisfying tram building.

Hi David, Thats from that auction in Edinburgh that i started a thread on yesterday, there were several of the Liliput trams in the lot, finding quite funny how they are all appearing from this sale now. You could have picked them up on your way home.

here was the how auction, all on page 1 !

There were certainly some good bargains had on the day even if you add the buyers premium. I was struck by the Brown Crock at £180, the Piko Kamel at £110 and I am not sure I have ever seen Kiss locomotives sub £1000, bendy one at £450 and Gem ED at £380 absolute bargains. I think these show the prices one can expect when surviving dependants move on a large collection via an Auction House.

Very same Kiss locos on Ebay in Kiddiminster for £1000 plus, if i am honest i had never heard of KISS before this auction. Maybe we need an "auction watch " section to this forum to keep people informed, realistic prices can then be achieved without the dealers taking over. The Price of Crocks seams quite low at the moment, i think the ebay dealers must have a lot of them instock (i know of one that does) so dont need anymore, I watched one go for £170 last week at LSK auctions.

Hi David,

Thanks for the info it convinced me to buy the twin set last night as an addition to my ever growing electric ( and eccentric) fleet. I’ve always loved going to Soller and watching and riding on their trams and I’ve often thought about adding some to my fledgling indoor line. Well it looks as if that’s going to happen now!

Cheers
Martin

I hope you don’t mind the pics of a couple of Mohawk Valley Engines that although are not strictly passenger carrying trams, they do fit in rather well…

That double headed Stainz cab is absolutely the max! How inspiring..!!
Not made by me I’m afraid. It came as a box cab diesel and I’ve converted it to overhead electric power, adding lights, bell and horns. It really is something else though!

Cheers

If anyone is interested, Hobbycraft sell an own brand spray paint that is almost the same as the LGB blue colour, and from the same store you can buy Montana spray colour ORME, which is almost the same as LGB white/Cream on these locomotives.
Mohawk Valley #5 was repainted with these paints.

Cheers

OK, now if have blue and cream steeple cab envy
I'm planning to advertise THREE steeple cabs on here shortly. A red/cream one, a blue/cream one and an (early) all-blue one. Just need to find the time to organise the photos and the written descriptions.

There are also a couple of "Fiery Elias" steam trams too.

Of course, if you want to 'jump the gun' . . .

Cheers

David
