That's a great looking layout and garden Keith. Any chance of putting up a sketch of the trackplan?
Only problem with that mountain of dirt is once you get the trains up they have to come down again, without looking like spaghetti. But I'm sure there are some radical solutions out there.

Thanks for your posting - apologies for delay in responding but what with the builders etc. things been a bit hectic here recently. At the moment a trackplan does not exist but I do promise to try and do one soon....sometimesI forget where all the track goes
Last week I did manage to smoothen the incline on what was to be the trestle. Used "half-a-bubble" on my spirit level and think the incline looks quite smooth now. My rough calculations indicate a fall of 18inches over 43feet (516inches) of track....maths was not my best subject at school but think that works out at I in 28 or thereabouts - is that right?:thinking:
Also last week something that I said would never arrive on the EG&SNNR did arrive on the EG&SNNR
...and how come this was allowed? Last month my brother brought his young grandson down to see Mum in her care home. At that time he produced his own Thomas:
Once we got home it was time to get brother's grandson indoctrinated into the joys of G-Scale. He seemed to take to the Massoth Navi liking the rotary control rather than the push buttons.
Once he had a play decided that he deserved a large scale Thomas
....but, of course, only for use here when he visits

No chance of any trains running whilst the builders are in (only another three months to go:timeout
so decided to bite the bullet and started work on stabilising the new mountain that has appeared in the middle of the garden. It looks massive but think that once it has settled and has been landscaped and planted etc. it should not look too bad.....
Have decided to use H-blocks to form the outside of the mountain. The track will start outside the H-Blocks but once it has reached the same hight as the H-Blocks intention is that the track will go on top of the H-Blocks. Recycled concrete generated by the builders will be used to face the H-Blocks..... First a pic of the track leaving the main line....
...and where, to start with, it will be going,,,,
