Here is my layout, main loop is around 40m.

First post so fingers crossed it works....

Plan seems to be floating in the system, not fixed to the message...........better go back to the instructions.......

Knotty,

That's a truly amazing concept. You seem to have included almost everything on the original line from one period or another. Are you going to be able to replicate some of the steep gradients, I wonder? Look forward to seeing some pictures as work progresses.

Hi, never posted my track plan(s) - I had three attempts to get it right (and it still isn't !).

Quick Question ,

Started to do my track plan using AnyRail but it will not let you use more than 50 sections with out buying it. Is there any other that is unlimited ?

Try XtrkCad. It was a proprietary product but is now freely available. http://www.mizelltrains.com/xtrkcad.html may help.

As I asked for it on a new topic thought that I would bring this back to the top.
Househunting at present, prime consideration is a suitable garden.....

That is right, why worry about Kitchens, Loo's, bedrooms etc. These are just rooms that you use. You LIVE a garden railway!

Wow you lot are talented. Here is mine...

I seam to remember something, is this the garden railway that is to be reduced due to planning permission being accepted by SWMBO wanting an extension?

Also been house-hunting recently. Looks like we'may have found somewhere - with a huge jungly garden. Trouble is SWMBO is threatening we'll only be there for two years, so there may not be time to tame the undergrowth, let alone lay down a railway. I've come up with a plan but will need to re-draw it before posting the result.

(Will just post this to bookmark the thread again on the forum's front page)

Had to post the plan here as the Edit button on my earlier post has vanished.

This is my idea, but I think it may be too large. At least it would be possible to build it in three or four phases and have something to run from the start. Should be plenty of operating possibilities. The plan is a slightly altered and enlarged version of an indoor line that appeared in Garden Rail some years ago - always liked it.

Having looked at other layouts' early days I have to say Tom's method looks promising as a fairly quick way of getting track down and the area filled in ready for scenic work. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Here's an updated version of Ruritanian Railways, including the 2010 extension of the Zenda (upper) portion of the line:

The current version, rebuilt on the ashes of the page 1 layout.

Giles nice plan, I hope you can get it down
Ross, is that based on Kevin Strong's EBT layout? it has a nice base plan.
