I am about to break ground across the lawn ( to swmbo's horror) and this is where the above advice will really come into play.
I can remember that time well Ian. We used to live in London and only come up to the house we live in now at weekends. My lovely lady was not coming up for three weekends due to other commitments so I chose that time to do wee bit of civil engineering. Unfortunately it was November and had been raining for weeks. By the end of the first Sunday's endeavours the garden resembled the Som and the lawn had all but disappeared in a sea of mud due to me going backwards and forwards over it and dragging ballast bags and rocks. On my return to London I just replied to the expected question..."Looking good, everything going to plan...."
Three weeks later all was revealed
