Track Centres

Hello
Can anyone please tell me what the track centres would be if I use AristoCraft large radius points to make a cross-over. I use LGB R3 as my minium radius and two R3 points gives about 8" track centres and I want to maintain about 5" to 6".

LGB track centres are stated as 185 mm for R3 and above, so about 7 1/2 inches in old money.

Even LGB R1/R2 centres would be 165 mm (6 1/2 inches), so 5-6 inches seems very tight and won't allow for much room on the curves for long bogie vehicles with large overhangs.

I'd be surprised if ART points would have centres this close together.

Not sure about the points but their track radii are 2ft, 2ft 6 in, 3 ft 10 in, 5 ft and 10 ft according to this website....

Hello Gizzy abd thanks for that.
I have tried to follow the dimensions laid down by Marc Horovitz in his "Beginners Guide to Large Scale Model Railroading" book in my 10 years ago since I started. He talks about
5 1/2" track centres on the straight easing to 6 1/2" on curves of a minimum radius of 24" and that has worked well for me even with long bogie wagons. I now want to install a crossover in the midddle of my straight and bulging from 5 1/2" to 8" is not a pretty sight. I have used an Aristo point for a siding and it is a smaller length curved section than LGB R3 and hence my question.

I have used Aristo Xwide points for a crossover, and the track centres are 6 inches as near as makes no matter.

And then I remembered that I had trimmed about 1 inch off the end of the curved leg of each set of points to achieve the 6-inch track centres : Unmodified points would give about 6.5 inch centres.
