A couple of months ago, Alec gave me a big slab of Welsh slate that used to be a house sign. I had a use in mind for it, but it was way too big and it would have needed cutting against the "grain" .......... which I didn't fancy.

Sooo today I came up with the idea of using it to replace the security fencing at the rear of Wetton Depot. Going for the Machynlleth rock face look .

The grounded bodies might get moved around ....... not sure yet.

Me not sure either, sort of can see what your after (hunted back to remind me of a before pic) rather than the existing "netting fence" but sort of looks to slabby and sudden if you don't mind me saying. Could it go on an angle to merger into the vegetation maybe

I know what you mean John. I think the biggest problem is the top right hand corner of the slab which looks a bit too square. I might try chipping away at it and try to get it a little more "rounded". I think that, when the foliage starts draping over it, it will also soften the edges a bit.

It may take a while before I get round to it though .

Hi Mel. I'm really enjoying the view from here. Surprising how clear it is from this far away. Great photos and a layout full of atmosphere. Keep them coming! ...... Barry

After a couple of abortive attempts at running a train this afternoon thanks to showers, I finally got a couple of hours running after tea.

By way of summoning up a bit of courage before starting the GRS loco kit I got from Telford, I decided to step back in time and run No2 "Michael Henry" on a mixed service.
