To Regner Vincent or not

I bought mine second hand at least ten years ago, but it has always been a problem loco and seldom gets run.
The previous owner had already solved the issue of the chain slackening by turning a larger idler wheel, which you can see in the photograph. The problematic Regner gas filler was replaced with the conventional ronson type. The burner was very noisy and prone to whistling, so I fitted mesh and a air limiting collar, which have improved things a bit. For some reason the gas jet gets blocked more frequently than any of my other locos. At least it's very easy to access. It has the refinement of a screw to adjust the flow of steam oil, but at any setting it is a particularly dirty engine, coating both itself and the track with a film of oil much quicker than other locos. Not ideal for indoor running.
In summary I have fiddled about with it on and off for years and given it test runs, but cannot remember actually pulling a train with it. That said, this spring I got it out of it's box and for the very first time it ran a couple of circuits with no tinkering required.

Not many good reviews,THank you for your assistance,I will pass on this one,I own the Chaloner and the Max,The Max had many issues the Chaloner has been a GREATS teamer.
