Had a philosophical debate with a fellow member of the Permanent Way Institute when he was over here doing a job for us. Both he, and you, (and it looks like Mr Lehmann) call this track structure a 3 way point.
On our system, we call them double turnouts, in this case a Left-Right. We have also got Right-Lefts. I had this terminology drilled into me very early in my track engineering career, when I called one we were installing, a three way turnout. 'Real' 3 way turnouts have their point rails meeting at the same place, and the crotch frog is symmetrically located, not off to one side. We've got at least one of them still in one of our yards.

Just as well Gizzy posted a picky then, saved all sorts of confusion!

Crotch Frog sound's like an 'Allo Allo!' or farce term..

I saw these ones Gavin, only just this weekend, when we went for lunch at Wansford on the Nene Valley heritage railway near Peterborough....

Just one point...
The LGB 'double points' have an R1 and R2 radius. The only R2 points that LGB make.
I have a few already, and they are both R1 curves, although as the RH road could be said to be effectively longer from the toe of the LH one, I can see where you are coming from.

Interestingly enough, LGB made an R3 version, LGB 12350. I have one on my layout as seen below. Never ever seen another, so I guess they are quite rare....

They have indeed shoe horned a lot of track in at Wansford to get to the varying Shed and Works Roads. I wonder what the official take for name of the interesting curved 3 wayer to the right is?
