Thomas and the Brake Van on the Sandwell Valley Railway

Very good Keith....

Great stuff Keith. Pleased to see Scruffy has learnt his lesson, for now at least. I like the sequences out the carriage window. A wonderful railway and garden by the looks. :)

Great story in a beautiful setting.
Love your Toby!

Thanks for all of your lovely comments.
The shots through the carriage windows and along Thomas' boiler were taken with a http://gopro.com/products/?gclid=CPSV1o3A67kCFbMbtAodaycARg < Link To GoPro Hero 3. It does not have a view finder or a screen, but there is an iPad app that is used to provide a screen and also a means of remotely controlling the camera. The camera is very tiny so will fit inside carriages. I couldn't get it to line up with Thomas' spectacle plate so I made a mask out of plasticard.
I've tried to choose the camera angles to minimise views of fences, the house, etc..
Also I do like having a story to tell rather than just taking video of the trains running round.

Wonderful piece of work that Keith, we have just got to wait for Thomas and the Snowdrifts:rolf::rolf::rolf:

superb.
I loved the shots, through the windows, looking out on your amazing garden , the platforms.
great story telling and very compelling. I particularly enjoyed the Rick Mason-esque Pink Floyd -like organ music. Sets an interesting , restful, and contemplative mood. This really sets your Thomas tales apart.

Great staging too of figures and stock. All very believable and all within the limitations of those things, ie no hopping Preiser figures.
And its great too that you put all of the equipment into context-the crane, Thomas, James, Scruffy, etc. LIke the re-paint too of the Barmer coach (Henrietta) .
Nice attention to detail too when Percy looks towards Thomas on the platform during their discussion. Thoroughly enjoyable. Rev Awdry would be proud. IMHO much closer to the tone of his books,

Thanks. The music is composed and performed by my brother-in-law, Yampimon.
Having been brought up with the original Rev Awdry stories I don't like what has been done with the latest TV series so really appreciate your compliment as it was my intention to make something like the original. I haven't bought Emily as she is not one of the original characters.

Superb video and story. The shots from the carriage and the footplate are excellent - the former especially. Look forward to more, please.

That is an awesome video--and a magnificient railway too!

I loved everything about it, but my favourite part was the little scene in the fabrication shop, welding and grinding on old Scruffy!

Keith

Thanks again to everyone who has commented so positively and I will be making another one but at the moment I'm drawing a blank as far as story ideas are concerned.
