About 18 months ago we decided to move from NorthwestFlorida to the North Georgia Mountains. The South Bucks Light Railway was the first thing to be taken apart and packed up, even though the actual move wasn’t Planned to happen until January this year. Following the move the last 9 months have been spent sorting out the house and getting straight. Latest thing was to have some landscaping done. We’re on the side of a mountain, so a bit of a challenge. That was completed last week. Today I decided to see if the new garden would allow a railway. My first issue was if the gradient on the area is too steep for a loco to actually make progress.
I found the locos thinking their batteries would be toast after 18 months. Then couldn’t find the chargers. In the meantime have laid a very temporary track along the garden. Then found the chargers, but surprise, the batteries were still fully charged. Loco on track, and away we go. Yes, it all seems that we could create a railway here. Probably an end to end and nothing like as extensive as in Florida, but it looks good.

You will have to post some general overview shots again..
Though you might need a drone, to get a shot looking back at the house from 'someways over the fence'?

I do have a drone, but I’m a bl**dy awful pilot. I don’t fancy loosing the thing down in our wilderness! I’ll try something from another part of the house.

OK - here’s a shot from the bedroom deck which shows what I’m working with. Not much of a run, but I think I can get two small station areas, one at each end. Plus maybe an engine shed and a goods shed. Run around loops at each end. I’ll have to work on some plans.IMG_4382.jpeg
